CrisisCon 22.
The International Council for Helplines (ICH) and the National Association of Crisis Organization Directors (NASCOD) are thrilled to officially announce that we will be co-hosting CrisisCon22 in Kansas City, MO on October 19 – 21. Kansas City was our choice for 2020 and we’re so happy to finally be able to have our conference in the center of the country. The location has inspired our theme and we can’t wait to connect with all of you—it has been too long.
In the past year, largely driven by the pending emergence of 988, there have been—and will continue to be—a lot of changes in the world of crisis care. We’ve all been working hard to make 988 a triumph for crisis line services in the nation, creating easy and equal access for all. And while crisis lines are clearly at its core, the national narrative around 988 has very much revolved around other important components of crisis services, including law enforcement diversion, crisis response and crisis respite/stabilization. What does all of this mean and how do we continue to work together and strengthen our collaborations? Let’s meet up in Kansas City, MO, to find out and where we’ll celebrate the local Lifeline center (located in Kansas proper: Lawrence, KS), Headquarters, Inc., a prime example of excellent crisis care and a success story of the-little-center-that-could.
A call for papers and more details will come in the near future; for now, please save the date and spread the word!
